Crown &
Two Chairmen (Up All Night)
Soho, London – Wednesday 2nd July 2003
Nice friendly place, played about 5 or 6 tunes, enjoyed playing
there and hope to be back there again soon. Thanks Phil (runs
the night). Girl called Stephanie Harris played too –
lovely voice – great tunes.
Blue Million Miles – The Strong Room
Nr Old Street, London – Saturday 5th July 2003
Really groovy place, tucked off Curtain Road and below a big
recording studio complex. The night usually runs on Fridays
and this was its first Saturday. Run by a great bunch of people
– we gave the main man a copy of our album which was
more than paid for by the free drinks they gave us for performing.
Ended up playing quite late, but was a fun night – amused
that we were billed as ‘weavy intricate stuff from the
West Country’! Someone called Sarah Blair played there
too – she was v.good. Will hopefully be back there soon.
Peepshow – The Rhythm Factory
Aldgate East, London – Sunday 6th July 2003
Did a 20 minute set here playing alongside a band called Sevenball
and a guy called Peter Brown who we’d seen before –
you’d remember the latter if you’d seen him. Mr
Brown dedicated one of his songs to us – cheers! Anyway,
our set went down pretty well – and we enjoyed it -
definitely getting tighter.
