LIFE UNDER SEAT
In the last six months of 2002 Urusen went into the studio
to record our first album, Life Under Seat. Recording took
place at the top of a big building at the top of a big hill,
so we ended up pretty fit, although that was all compensated
for by a further two months of sitting in a room mixing and
producing it all. Life Under Seat was then mastered by singer-songwriter
Peter Hammill (best know from the 1970’s band Van Der
Graaf Generators) at his studio in Bath. All this and the
artwork on top took us into March to get the finished product,
a long but good haul.
You can download a couple of complete mp3'ed tracks from
the album, although, to make downloading quicker, we've compressed
them quite a lot; the CD sounds much better quality, honest.
There are 14 tracks, many performed at our gigs as well as
a collection of new ones. All the songs were written on acoustic
guitars so that forms the basic structure of the album's sound
but where appropriate (and feasible) we've notched things
up a bit.
to everyone who helped during this lengthy process!
